Austria will be represented this year with a return by the very rapid Benjamin Weiss and Patrick Schneider.
They are no strangers to the WSC series, having made selected appearance in previous years, but it is hoped they will attempt a full season in 2024, as they are very good value and can run well up the front.
The costs and effort needed to conduct a full campaign are well understood and virtually all the teams are amateur status, having to work for a living and fund their sport. This makes it difficult for any team to commit to the entire series without significant sponsorship.
The Austrians are no exception, so we wish them well and certainly look forward to some good results. They are capable of a top-ten finish provided they do the full series.
Joining them from across the border in Germany is the male/female team of Patrick Hengster and Celina Jahn. They appeared in the WSC circus at selected rounds last season, with the intention of extending their involvement to more races in 2024.
Their distinctive pink colour scheme underlines the presence of this determined young lady passenger who made the transition from original horsepower, having been equally successful in the equestrian world. They will be another German asset in the series, having done battle with the likes of Lukas Erlecke and the Weinmann brothers for Cup and National honours back home.
Other big news centres around the colourful and hugely talented Julian Veldman, who as we all know has defected to the Quad ranks with great success. He is planning an attack on the European title in the EMX Quadcross series, and we look forward to that. Don’t rule out a one-off appearance back on a sidecar either. He jumped on one last year at Strassbessenbach and finished fourth overall.

It is shaping up to be yet another stellar year, with more than half the rounds featuring Quads and all the extra entertainment they bring.
