New season of the WSC 2017 starts in Netherlands
New season of the world sidecarcross championship is here and all has started in Netherlands.
The sidecarcross family was welcome on the typical sandy track in Oldebroek. On its specific surface, favorites are local heroes of course.
These two fast dutch guys met in the first qualification race but both of them were involved in quite wild racing incident in the very first corner. Daniel Willemsen had some technical issues after that and he was forced to retire. Another dutch man, rising star Julien Veldman was leading, but near the finish of the first lap he lost his passenger Jorrit van den Putten.
First qualification race won fast french rider Valentine Giraud with latvian passenger Elvis Mucenieks. Second place was secured by british crew Brown – Millard and third was Andy Burgler with Martin Betschart from Switzerland.
In the second qualification heat were fastest local heroes Koen Hermans with Kenny van Gaalen.
They smashed other rivals for almost half a minute, but there was really tight fight for the second position between Czech rider Tomáš Čermák and the Belgian Kristof Santermans.
Czech brothers Tomáš and Ondřej Čermák were finally more successful and defended second position in front of Santermans and Daiders.
The main race is scheduled on Monday.
