The sole Austrian team competing full-time in the World Championship has decided their time is over. Benny Weiss and Patrick Schneider crowned their achievements on the big stage with a GP race victory at Kramolin last year in the Czech Republic in what was to be their final season. The likeable pair remained loyal to each other and their trusty Zabel, gaining a reputation for fast starting and hard riding close to home and across Europe. Always known as tough opponents, they are yet one more top team to exit the series and will be greatly missed by the paddock and race fans.

We wish them luck with whatever paths they choose going forward and hope to see them around the scene at one or two of the races.

On that note, with the new contracts in place for both the Sidecars and the new Quadcross world series, a very busy season is rapidly approaching.
The ranks will be also bolstered by the introduction a new “feeder class” at selected rounds launched by FIM Europe consisting of the 2026 Junior European Sidecarcross Championhip. Engines up to 500cc will be allowed with drivers ages ranging from 15 years to 23. There is no age restriction for passengers.
The mid-April start date in France sees battle commence with all preparations well underway by the teams, WSC, the FIM and all organisers for the new season.
