Feet on the ground in Czech for round one 2025

09/05/2025

The annual invasion of Europe by multi-National forces has begun, with the army of Sidecar and Quad cross teams descending on Kramolin in the Czech Republic for the first of nine assaults. The spectacular woodland of Nepomuk is about to burst to life with the sound of engines once again, with the paddock already a scene of expectation and quiet excitement. Many of these teams will have seen action at home and other domestic championship chases, so the machinery and physical condition of the crews has already been tested.

Europe had been basking in high temperatures in recent weeks, but it turned cold just before we arrived on Thursday. The track however was in perfect shape, and we were not due any rain before close of play on Sunday.

A large entry of forty sidecars and over thirty quads would mean a very busy Saturday of qualifying for both classes.

What do I feel about yet another new season? Well, it seems to have been a longer, darker winter than normal, and I for one am very happy to be back on track and opening the series at Kramolin where the organisers always run a highly professional event.

Our pre-event chats were targeted at the reigning champions Marvin Vanluchene and Harry Walker, with a definite addition of the returning Nicolas Musset in Marvin’s sidecar. Manfred Zieneker and Patrick Turrini were two other quad personalities to go for, whilst we finished the sidecar interviews with the Prunier brothers and an extremely confident Daniel Lielbardis.

Both those latter crews just happen to be leading their respective domestic championship chases. The weekend is building nicely and so is the tension and expectation.

We will be on air from tomorrow with the live stream available on FIM-MOTO.TV with the EMX Quadcross championship also on the busy programme. The quad reports and updates will be available on www.emxquad.com .
