Vanluchene returns to the FIM red carpet for title number three

19/12/2024

The pinnacle of the 2024 season took place in Palma Majorca over the weekend of December 6/7 when the great and good from all FIM motorcycle disciplines gathered for the annual Awards Gala night.

Newly crowned world champions from MotoGP, World Superbike, MXGP, World Endurance, Speedway and World Trials were among the high-profile sports recognised, along with every other aspect of motorcycle sport.

Marvin Vanluchene was collecting his third gold medal, whilst his 2024 passenger Glenn Janssens was unavailable, therefore missing the chance to experience the glitz for the first time.

The event was truly an International gathering of champions in a glamorous function facility catering for around one thousand persons.

Eurosport TV presenter Matt Roberts along with double world superbike champion and commentator James Toseland, co-hosted the event, working through an exhausting schedule of awards covering more than two hours.

Spread across three different settings, the evening began with a sumptuous meal followed by a spectacular light and dance show preceding the awards ceremony held in a modern auditorium. The entire gathering then relocated upstairs to the “after-party” disco well into the early hours of Sunday morning.

This was the final dramatic event of the current motorcycle sporting season, with all eyes now on the year ahead and the excitement that is bound to bring.

Still more team announcements are due ahead of next season, with national championships getting underway early in the new year. So, stay with us as we continue to bring you everything as it happens here on www.fimsidecarcross.com along with all our social media platforms.
